Alvaro Caceres

Composer, pianist and computer scientist from Madrid, based in LA, and specialized in improvising music with computer code (live coding). Álvaro holds master degrees with distinction in computer science at the University of Nottingham, and music composition at California State University Long Beach. He worked as an associate lecturer in interactive media at the University of York. Álvaro has performed in 5 countries, including: Eulerroom Mexico City, A/V Club SF, People Inside Electronics LA, Ctrl+Z Buenos Aires, Algorave Madrid, It’s More Fun to Compute Paris, Coaxial Arts LA, and Sounds of Sanity Festival Long Beach. His video with LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER, live coding a church organ, has gone viral on social media. He presented his music programming language at the International Conferences in Live Coding 2020, and an EU-funded educational audiogame at the European Researchers Night UK 2020.
